These photos were taken from Chuck’s Steak House.  They had a great deal for dinner – from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. you could eat for what you would pay at Mimi’s Cafe.  And yes, the food was very good.

Annual Mtg.Tim and Carolyn Logerquist with Fermin

What a wonderful surprise!!  The Gold Coast Baptist Association surprised their Director of Missions Tim Logerquist and his wife Carolyn with a tribute for their 20 years of service to their churches.  Instead of their regular annual meeting they saluted Tim and Carolyn for a job well done!!!

Taking pictures from a distance inside a church building at night without flash is hard form me, but I think these came out OK.

Fermin and I had a great time visiting with the East Bay Association.  Lyman (Dir. of Missions) and Sandy Alexander are friends from long time ago.

One of the highlights of this meeting was the training that was given to the leaders present on how to use their bright new “Block Party” trailer.  The trainer had the people involved set up in less than 25 minutes!!! Not only did they set up, but they had to assemble part of the equipment, since the content of the trailer was new.  Two Bouncing Houses, Pop Corn and Ice Shaved Machines, tables, chairs, 3 or 4 canopies, games, grill, sound system, you name it this trailer had it, enough for a party of  about 250 people.

The California State Convention gave this trailer to the association, thanks to our churches giving to the State Missions Offering.  They hope to be able to give more of these trailers to other associations in the future as recourses are available.

First Blogging Anniversary

Carmen Z

October 17, 2008 - October 17, 2009

Wow, has it been that long?  It seems like yesterday and it has already been a year since I started blogging.

Last year, Carlos finally cornered me and after many months of persuasion, I gave in.  I had been wanted to blog but I was terrified, yes terrified.  If you have read my other page “About Me” or just read some of my entries ;) you know that English is my second language.  I have enjoyed blogging, sometimes it has been a little hectic, but as a whole is has been a very pleasant experience.

The people I thought would read my blog – ARE NOT, and many others that I didn’t think would read it – ARE – such is life.  It has given me some confidence I did not know I had.  I wished I had done it earlier.

My daughter-in-love, Heather, has been a good example, and through her blog I have gotten in contact with others.   My husband has also been an encourager, always telling me “you can do it”.  Carlos and Eddie read my blog and leave encouraging comments – OK, Eddie more than Carlos :) and not very often.

Thank you, whoever you are, for stopping by this blog.

Portola Station Church is where Feather River Baptist Association met this past week end.  What a beautiful church!  Pastor Dennis Black gave us the tour of the building and told us the story on how God provided.

We had a great time with the different churches that came to the annual meeting.  God is working in the communities where these churches are ministering.

Facebook Has Changed Me

Carmen Carmen

Before Facebook                               After Facebook

I have enjoyed Facebook so much, almost to the point of….. OK, never mind :) I love that friends I have not seen or heard from in years, or did not know where they were, have found me and we have gotten reacquainted.  I have made new friendships with women I don’t know personally, but are friends of my sister or other Facebook friends.  Also, I have become closer with women I used to see once in a while.  Facebook puts me in touch with so many more people and we all share our joys (mostly), and prayer requests.  My problems become smaller in comparison with others.  I rejoice more when you share your joys, I hurt and cry and pray more when you share your prayer requests.

When you look at me you may not notice, but yes, Facebook has changed me.

“Friends come and friends go, but a true friend sticks by you like family.”            Proverbs 18:24 The Message
