I Keep God Laughing

You want to make God laugh, make plans.

I look at my calendar and I have nothing for the next week, no trips, no eating out – and I make plans – plans like a full week of eating at home.  I like knowing what I’m going to eat at home all week; specially for dinner and lunch.  I don’t mind cooking if I know what I’m going to make.  I work better that way.  Then Fermin calls and says:  Are you dressed? (he means “presentable”) so and so is in town and I’m taking him out for dinner, it would be nice if you could join us.  He knows that I enjoy seeing people that come through town from other places and Fermin also likes it when I’m with him – so there goes my plans.  What’s a girl to do?

Spring Time Is Here TODAY

 

Spring – Summer – Autumn – Winter – The seasons of the year – Oh Spring Time, how I love thee.  Funny thing is that  spring time could feel like winter one day and summer another day, but today it feels like spring and I love it.  I have so much to do inside the house, but it can wait, is not going anywhere, what’s outside may be gone tomorrow.  Enjoy the day!

To Auberry this Sunday

Only 30 minutes from my house is this little community of Auberry.  I would of never known, is so different than Fresno is.  Pastor Dale Fink and his family minister in this church.  They have a lovely campus, full of trees and shade.  I don’t think this will be our last visit to this church.  As always, Fermin preached an encouraging message.

Catalyst West Coast and Some Other Random Thoughts

Fermin and I attended the first Catalyst West Coast.  It was held at one of the most beautiful church campus I have seen, Mariners Church in Irvine, CA.

The conference had so many great  speakers and to top things off, Hillsong United from Australia, led us in worship on Thursday, they were out of this world, I love their music.

Carlos and Heather were here for this conference, Fermin and I were able to spend some time with them (no, no grandkids for that I have to wait till June to see them, God willing).

Oh, and just as I was leaving the campus, Andy Stanley (Carlos’ Boss) yelled for Carlos from one of the cars, when he realized I was Carlos’ Mom, he got out of the car and gave me the biggest hug I have gotten in a while.  I don’t think he reads my facebook, or does he?

For I Know The Plans I Have For You . . .

 

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”   Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

My heart breaks when I read of God’s promises.  My pain comes when I realize that so many of us Christians walk around in defeat.  God has so much for us, but how can we claim His promises when we don’t have a relationship with Him and hence are not aware of everything He has in store for us.  His plans are to give us a hope and a future, but we need to be where He wants us to be before He can bless us.  We may need to be in Babylon (a place that is not comfortable) for a while – we need to be obedient to His will.

Play Date with Meraya

I have known Meraya’s mother and grandmother for over ten years – twelve, thirteen?  Who is counting?  Maraya is so precious, playful, funny – oh yea, and full of energy.  We went out to take a few photos and time just flew.  My heart was full.

The flowers were beautiful, but just look at this face.

Baptism Service

How Long Does It Take You To Fall In Love?

With me it happened instantly, it was love at first sight – but who wouldn’t with a face like this?

He entretains himslef, just look at him!

No, no, no, no, no, Spencer is not my dog, it’s my sister’s dog.  Can you imagine having a dog with my schedule?   It wouldn’t be fair to the dog.  Mine is a long distance relationship.

Disneyland!

As as soon as I heard we were staying one more day, my sister Nancy and I said “Disneyland”!!! and off we went.  We had a blast, well she did more than I did.  Somehow I ended up in front and I mean in front (just look at the photos) of the three worst rides for me - Matterhorn, Space Mountain and Splash Mountain – I got soaked!

   

Oh this is embarrassing, look at the little girl (Space Mountain Photo) sitting behind my sister, she is having so much fun!

Easter Sunday with Family and Friends

Memories came rushing as we parked our car at First Bilingual Baptist Church.  This is the church where I met my husband, got married and our two boys were born (back then it was called  Primera Iglesia Bautista del Sur, Pico Rivera, CA).  We still have many friends that continue to attend and this last Easter Sunday we got to worship with them.

After church we met at my sister Nancy’s home, where we meet most to the time.  It was a good day.
