On Saturday we were picked up from our hotel by Pastor Darryl Beard and his beautiful wife Alexis. Had a delightful dinner at the Parkers’ Lighthouse Restaurant in Long Beach overlooking the Queen Mary. I had not been to Long Beach in a long time. What a beautiful place, I think Fermin and I are going back soon.
Next day Fermin preached his yearly sermon at Mount Carmel Holy Assembly. What a sweet fellowship they have at that church. Pastor Beard and his wife have been leading that congregation for the last seven years. You can tell the people in the congregation can’t help but love their Pastor and their First Lady. It was good to be with them.

We got home Monday afternoon. That evening Fermin was to go and have dinner with a group of Korean Pastors. I was asked to attend, and I’m so glad I did, I was able to see my friend Fanny and meet one of the pastor’s wife, Susan, and also I got to meet our new US 2 missionary, Sherann Kim. Sherann is going to work at the State Convention in Evangelism with our youth. You can tell what her passion is as soon as she starts talking about young people.
Tony also invited a retired Executive Director from the Ukraine, you can see him on Fermin’s right side. At the dinner table we had several Korean Pastors and wives, a Russian that was born in Germany and raised in Argentina, a Ukrainian that did not speak English, two Mexicans raised in the United States, one Panamanian (your Executive Director), a Mexican American, and one Anglo. I think this is a little bit like how haven is going to be.

Did you know that not only is it good to keep your mouth shut for obvious reasons – it is also good for your health? I heard on the radio that if you are among people who are sick, it is best to keep your mouth close and breath through your nose, that way the little hairs inside your nose trap some of the germs that otherwise would go right into you through your mouth.
Good advise during this flu and cold season.
