Oscar I. Romo

oscar-i-romoMission Accomplished.  Oscar I. Romo passed away Friday, January 16 at his home.

What can I say about Oscar, he was my husband’s boss.  For many years they worked together at the Home Mission Board (now North American Mission Board) in Atlanta, GA and through working together they became friends.  Even after his retirement, they would call each other often and visit on the phone.  Just last month, Fermin was able to visit with him while in Atlanta.

Oscar was honored and respected by many in the Southern Baptist Convention.  During the Southern Baptist Convention held in San Antonio, TX in 2007 he was honored and given an achievement award.  You can see him receiving the award on the photo above accompanied by his wife Merry and his grandson Phillip.
